Position: Student Interships (Plant, Tax Accounting and Investor Relations)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Tucson Electric Power seeks individuals for the positions of Tax Services
Student Intern, Plant Accounting Student Intern and Investor Relations Student
Intern. These positions will supplement the permanent staff and offer work
experience to college students in Accounting-related disciplines.
We are looking for an energetic addition to our team to perform research,
analysis, evaluation and preparation of tax returns, schedules, journal entries
and reports. This person should have a strong interest in the area of accounting
or finance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs analysis of Company data
- Performs research
- Participates in preparation of tax returns, supporting schedules, accounting
journals, and reports for various Company functions
- Participates in special projects and implementations
- Performs other administrative assignments as requested
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a full-time college student, at least 12 credit hours, in an accredited
University or community college and maintain a good academic standing
- Student must be pursuing a degree in Accounting or related discipline with a
graduation date no earlier than May 2009
- Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during regular business
hours; Up to 40 hours may be available during the summer and school breaks
- Must have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to protect highly
sensitive and confidential information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
BENEFITS:
As students are hired on a temporary basis, they are not eligible for benefits
or holiday pay.
Hourly Rate: $10.50 - $15.00 depending on experience and year in school.
