Accounting Department Funding
Most Ph.D. students are offered Graduate Teaching Associate positions. These positions offer a competitive salary. In addition, all out-of-state and in-state tuition charges are waived.
Other financial assistance may include teaching summer school and pre-session courses. Competitive fellowship grants are also available.

Accounting Doctoral Scholars
Award: Annual stiped of $30,000 for a maximum of 4 years to new Ph.D. candidates

Requirements:
Applicants must have recent and proven performance in audit or tax in a public accounting firm. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident committed to a career as an accounting faculty member at a U.S. university accredited in business by AACSB International.
AICPA Fellowships for Minority Doctoral Students
Award: Up to $12,000 per year, renewable up to 5 years

Requirements:
Minority students working full-time in doctoral program. Must hold Master's degree and/or have at least 3 years full-time experience in practice of accounting. Must be US citizen.
ATA Outstanding Tax Dissertation Award
Award: $5,000

California Society of CPAs Accounting Doctoral Scholarship Program
Award: $10,000 annually not to exceed $30,000

Requirements:
Candidates must be willing to become a CalCPA member, a permanent resident of the United States, and enrolled full-time in a program by September 2009. Candidates must agree to teach for at least three years in a university or college located in California.
Deloitte Foundation Doctoral Fellowship Program
Award: $25,000 over 2 year period

Requirements:
Candidates are recommended by the faculties of their department. Must have completed two or more semesters. $5,000 to help support during the final 12 months of required coursework and exams; $20,000 during work on dissertation.
Graduate Diversity Fellowship
Award: $10,000 fellowship for incoming students

Requirements:
Open to under-represented minorities, i.e. Hispanics, African Americans and Native Americans in all disciplines and under-represented students in particular disciplines. All candidates must be nominated by the UA Graduate Degree Program or the UA Student Center.
IIA Michael J. Barrett Doctoral Dissertation Grant
Award: $1,000 - $10,000

Requirements:
Must intend to teach auditing for two years; be enrolled within one year of completion of coursework and at dissertation stage at time of award.
KPMG Foundation Doctoral Scholarship
Award: $10,000 annually, renewable up to 5 years.

Open to African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans. Must be a US Citizen and be in full-time accounting doctoral program.
State Farm Doctoral Dissertation Award
Award: $10,000 research grant. Winner's graduate institution also receives a grant of $3,000.
